Saveli Bolotskikh — WKF World Championship Silver

The WKF Youth Karate World Championships took place in Konya, Turkey. Estonia was represented by ten athletes, including four from SK BUDO.

Saveli Bolotskikh competed in the cadet M U16 +70 kg category. He won five bouts to reach the World Championship final. In the decisive match Saveli was defeated by an athlete from Greece and earned the silver medal.

SK BUDO athlete Andrei Smirnov won two bouts in the M U16 −70 kg category before losing to an athlete from Argentina in the quarter-final. Karin Masterov’s campaign ended after her opening bout.

In the under-21 division, SK BUDO athlete Mihkel Mets won his first bout and lost his second to an athlete from Georgia.
